It’s our Birthday

We’re celebrating our Silver Anniversary this year.  It was the fall of 1980, when Kip and Ron opened Factory Pools and Game Tables in Nashua’s Simoneau Plaza.  Tod started as a high-school student working after school, and Jeanne and I joined corporate headquarters in 1981.

We have tried, over the years, to improve the quality of our products and services; from our original role as a factory outlet for Robelle Pool Supplies to our current role as New England’s biggest and best supplier of major name brand seasonal products backed by the most knowledgeable staff anywhere.

In 1984, in acknowledge-ment of our improvements, we changed our name to “Seasonal Specialty Stores”.  In the late 1980’s we began selling the individual stores to employees.  In 1989, Jeanne and I bought the Nashua store and moved it to Route 101A in Merrimack.  In 1999, we built our current building in Amherst.  So, we are not a chain.  We are a single owner-operated family business.  We do often make purchases with the other stores in order to increase our buying power and lower our (and your) costs.

In celebration of our Silver Anniversary, we have produced a special, limited-edition Seasonal pen.  If you don’t have one already, pick one up before we run out.  Who knows what it could be worth some day?
